In March, members of the Kafka Brigade from across the UK, USA and Netherlands attended the Winelands Conference at the beautiful Stellenbosch University in South Africa. We congregated with innovators around the world to share ideas on the topic of “Public Leadership for Added Citizen Value”. Excitingly, the Kafka Brigade contributed a paper on bureaucratic dysfunction to the event, both as practitioners and academics – as well as listening and learning. There was also time to renew some friendships with colleagues in South Africa, forged during previous initiatives, and to make some new friends. It was – we promise – genuinely hard work too!
